McCaleb Educational Fund
Projects: McCaleb Residences, 1840 Baronne Street
The McCaleb Educational Fund is a nonprofit social service provider affiliated with Progressive Baptist Church in New Orleans’ Central City neighborhood. Founded in 1988, the McCaleb Educational Fund serves low-income adults with special needs and disabilities through case management and assistance accessing social services and benefits.
Efforts of Grace
Projects: Ashé Powerhouse, Venus Gardens
Efforts of Grace is a community-based nonprofit organization that uses Afro-Caribbean art and culture to achieve economic and social change in New Orleans’ African-American community. Efforts of Grace has adopted a place-based approach to change-making; the organization has been and continues to be a pivotal influence in the cultural renaissance on O.C. Haley Boulevard.
Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless
Projects: Scott School Apartment Homes,
One Stop Homeless Services Center & Housing
The Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless is a consortium of 35 service providers committed to ending homelessness in the Greater Baton Rouge area through the coordinated delivery of services and case management, together with permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals with severe special needs.
Reconcile New Orleans
Project: Café Reconcile Renovation and Expansion
With its award-winning life skills and job training program, Reconcile New Orleans assists young people ages 16–22 from severely at-risk communities who desire to make a positive change in their lives. Café Reconcile is the organization’s nonprofit restaurant – and a popular lunch spot for a wide cross-section of New Orleanians – which serves as the primary training ground for students seeking to acquire skills in the food service industry.
